Details of the 2012-16 research programme are still being finalised, but it is likely that up to 200 high-precision measurements will be needed over the next four years (1.8.2012 – 31.7.2016). From receipt by the collaborating laboratory, results are requested within 20–26 weeks (requested turnaround will be negotiated on submission).The vast majority of results will be integrated into Bayesian chronological models. Research input will be needed from the collaborating laboratory over such issues as appropriate replication, selection of organic fractions, etc.They are aimed at those who commission, manage or monitor projects that include metal.Historic England's Science Advisors (SAs) provide support and advice to local authorities determining planning applications affecting archaeological sites and the archaeological units carrying out these excavations.
